چکیده
• Using regional brackish water resources to create supply networks. Variations in groundwater salinity over time were modeled at a high spatial resolution. The lowest cost network is determined while mixing of with different salinities considered. Small variations demand cause large differences the optimal costs. WaterROUTE model links modeling long term planning. Water users can reduce their impact on scarce freshwater by using more abundant or saline resources. Decentralized networks (WSN) connect these users. Here, we present (Water Route Optimization Utility Tool & Evaluation), which optimizes configurations based infrastructure investment costs considering quality (salinity) requirements user. We an example simulation determine WSN for values maximum allowed location supplying 2.5 million m 3 year -1 groundwater. data from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Netherlands. years 2030, 2045 and 2110 are generated simulated results show that small changes have significant effects configuration therefore For simulation, differ up 68% required site. be used design incorporate alternative sources such as local (this study), effluent, rainwater.

Optimization model of water supply networks design
The paper approaches the optimization of water distribution networks supplied from one or more node sources, according to demand variation. Traditionally, in pipe optimization, the objective function is always focused on the cost criteria of network components. In this study an improved linear model is developed, which has the advantage of using not only cost criteria, but also energy consumpti...
متن کاملA Stochastic Model for Water Resources Management
Irrigation water management is crucial for agricultural production and livelihood security in many regions and countries throughout the world. Over the past decades, controversial and conflictladen water-allocation issues among competing municipal, industrial and agricultural interests have raised increasing concerns. Particularly, growing population, varying natural conditions and shrinking wa...
متن کاملHead-Driven Simulation of Water Supply Networks
Up to now most of the existing water supply network analyses have been based on demand-driven simulation models. These models assume that nodal outflows are fixed and are always available. However, this method of simulation neglects the pressure-dependent nature of demand that is characterized by changes in actual nodal outflows particularly during critical events like major mechanical or hydra...
متن کاملThe Least Cost Design of Water Distribution Networks Using Water Quality Constraints
Water quality is a very important issue related to people health, but it is not usually considered in water distribution networks (WDNs) design. In this paper, new constraints such as free residual chlorine and the quality performance index are incorporated into the least cost design of water distribution networks. EPANET2 was applied for the hydraulic and quality analysis of water distributio...
متن کاملHydraulic Analysis of Water Supply Networks using a Modified Hardy Cross Method
There are different methods for the hydraulic analysis of water supply networks. In the solution process of most of these methods, a large system of linear equations is solved in each iteration. This usually requires a high computational effort. Hardy Cross method is one of the approaches that do not need such a process and may converge to the solution through scalar divisions. However, this me...
